Abstract:
Both
fasting (F) and Aproteic diet (Ap) produced a significant reduction
in serum Prolactin (PR) in male rats. The refeeding with control
diet (20% of protein), increased serum PR levels over the control
ranges. The PR concentration in the adenohypophysis tissue was
also decreased significantly. The hypothalamic dopamine in F
and Ap group was significantly decreased. Sulpiride test increased
PR level in Ap and Co groups. The relative increment was higher
in the Ap group.
