Drugs
and the calcium-homeostasis hormones - A Review by Georg Buhler, Svetia Balabanova, Julian Rosenth
Abstract
Abstract
Alterations of the catciotropic hormones, inununoreactive parathyroid
hormone (PTH) and immunoreactive calcitonin (CT), in blood plasma
and cerebrospinat fluid (CSF) in man and animals under drugs
as e.g. alcohol, nicotine, cocaine, caffeine, methadone, phencyclidine
(PCP) and natoxone has been observed. In last years a possible
rote of the hormones in effect of these drugs on central nervous
system (CNS) was suggested.
