Abstract
Acute
and chronic effects of insulin on the activities of rat hypothalamic
monoamine oxidase (MAO - A), superoxide dismutase (CuZnSOD)
and catalase were studied. Only chronic insulin treatment increased
MAO - A activity in the hypothalamus independent of the dose
applied. However, both acute and chronic insulin treatment suppressed
the activity of CuZnSOD, but did not change the activity of
catalase.
